Absolutley. Have fitting so many tiles in so many properties. We can give you some good impartial advise on what looks best in your home. But of course, the final decision is always yours!

Will you clean up after you have finished?

Of course. And for an extra deep clean we can organize cleaners to undertake dusting and wall cleaning from our Sister company Clapham Cleaners

Are you insured ? Yes, we hold full public liability insurance and damage insurance. How can I tell a good quality tile from a cheap one?

Tile quality varies significantly. Tiles are rated for durability and use. Lower grade tiles are suitable for wall applications, however, a higher rated tile is necessary for floors or exterior applications. We can advise you on what tiles you will need for certain areas.

What is the best tiling surface?

Although tile adhesive manufacuters list several suitable adhesion surfaces, we think the most durable tile jobs are on a cement base applied with cement bonding mortar (Thinset). Cement bonding surfaces include poured concrete (usually floors), cement and wire mesh mortar beds (walls & floors), cement backerboard (usually 1/2 " on walls), and cement board underlayments (usually 1/4" applied to wood subfloors). Again, we can take responsibilty for advise on the tiling surface.

Should I use sanded or unsanded grout?

Sanded grout should be used when the spacing between tiles is 1/8" or more. It tends to be more durable because of the silica sand that it contains. Most floor jobs will require sanded grout. Unsanded grout should be used when the spacing between tiles is 1/16" or less. Because of the lack of the silica sand in unsanded grout, it will penetrate the void much better. Most wall tile will be spaced at 1/16" or less..and some wall tiles will have self-spacing edges on them. We will advise you on the best grout to use.

What is the difference between porcelain and ceramic tile?

Porcelain tiles are simply a higher grade of ceramic tiles. They are made from a finer clay and are fired at a higher temperature. The result is a highly durable tile with an impervious water absorption rating. However, there are many designs possible in ceramic that are not available in porcelain. This is due to the different firing process involved.

Is natural stone hard to maintain?

All natural stones are porous whether they are highly polished or not. They all require sealing usually at least once per year and should be cleaned with a ph balanced cleaner regularly. Most people will put up with the added maintenance because there really is no other way to get the look, warmth, and feeling provided by natural stone.
